Tata Harrier and Safari Get New ADAS Features and Colours

Tata Motors has updated the ADAS suite for the Harrier and Safari SUVs. They receive two new features: lane keeps assist and adaptive steering assist, both of these features were missing earlier. The Indian carmaker has also taken this opportunity to update the colour palette of the SUVs.

New ADAS Features For Tata Harrier and Safari

As mentioned above, the Tata Harrier and Safari now get Lane Keeps Assist and Adaptive Steering Assist with Lane Centering. As clear by the name, the Lane Keep Assist function helps you to be in your lane and prevents unintentional lane departure. With the help of cameras and sensors, the system monitors lane markings on the road and if the vehicle drifts out of its lane without an indicator, this system gently steers the car back into its lane.

On the other hand, the Adaptive Steering Assist with Lane Centering is an advanced system that adjusts the steering to provide more control at different speeds. It also helps keep the vehicle centred within its lane by making minor steering adjustments.

Aside from these added two features, the ADAS suite of the Tata Harrier and Safari continues to get features like blind spot detection, lane departure warning, lane change alert, door open alert, rear-cross traffic alert, adaptive cruise control (AT only), automatic emergency braking, forward collision warning, rear collision warning, traffic sign recognition, and high beam assist.
