2024 Citroen C3 – What’s New?

  • The upgraded C3 now comes with an LED projector headlamp, replacing the previous halogen units.
  • The outside mirrors on the hatch now come fitted with turn indicators, whereas the previously fender-mounted indicators have been replaced by a new Citroen badge. Moreover, the ORVMs are now electrically adjustable and foldable.
  • Citroen has also introduced the rear wiper & washer, which was a big miss earlier.
  • The Citroen C3 also gets a new key fob and a 7-inch fully digital display.
  • The power window switches have also been relocated from the centre console to the door pads for added convenience.
  • In the safety department, the range-topping Shine variant now comes with six airbags.
  • Citroen has also introduced the convenience of automatic transmission with the range-topping Shine turbocharged variant. It receives a 6-speed torque converter automatic unit.

What’s Unchanged?

Aside from the above-mentioned additions, the Citroen C3 remains unchanged. It continues to get features like a 10.2-inch touchscreen infotainment system, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, steering-mounted audio controls, a height-adjustable driver’s seat, electronic stability control, a hill hold assist, a tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS), and a rear parking camera with sensors.

Powering the Citroen is either a 1.2-litre naturally aspirated petrol (82PS and 115Nm) engine, paired with a 5-speed manual transmission or a 1.2-litre turbo-petrol unit producing 110PS and up to 205Nm, offered with a 6-speed manual and a new 6-speed automatic transmission.

Author’s Take

While these updates are a welcome move by Citroen, features like rear headrests, keyless entry, push-button start, auto-dimming IRVM, and cruise control are still a big miss for the C3 compared to its key rivals like Tata Punch and Hyundai Exter.
