BMW i5 M60 Launched At Rs 1.20 Crore

The BMW i5, the electric version of the 5 Series sedan, has been launched in India. Available as the fully loaded M60 xDrive variant, it’s priced at Rs 1.20 crore (ex-showroom, pan-India). Its bookings are already underway, while deliveries scheduled to start in May.

What Powers The BMW i5 M60?

Powering the BMW i5 in the M60 xDrive variant is an 83.9kWh battery pack (usable capacity 81.2kWh) with a WLTP range of 516 kilometres on a single charge. It features one motor at each axle (a total of two electric motors), offering a combined output of 601PS and 795Nm, enabling it to sprint from 0 to 100kmph in just 3.8 seconds before hitting a top speed of 230kmph

Regarding charging, it gets an 11kW wall charger as standard, while a 22kW AC charger is available as an option. The EV also supports DC fast charging of up to 205kW, which can do a 10-80% charge in under 30 minutes.

BMW i5 M60 – Design and Features

Visually, the BMW i5 shares its design cues with the new-gen 5 Series, except for a few differences in the form of a closed-off illumination grille flanked by adaptive LED headlamps. The headlamps feature two integrated vertically oriented LED DRLs in each unit, which also serve as side indicators. BMW also provides it with M-specific badges and black accents on the grille, ORVMs, wheels, and roof. Additionally, the i5 M60 is equipped with a black diffuser and a boot lip spoiler featuring a carbon fibre finish.

From the sides, the i5 M60 variant boasts redesigned 20-inch M-specific alloy wheels with red brake callipers, distinguishing it from the standard i5.

BMW i5 M60 xDrive interior

Inside, the BMW i5 M60 showcases an all-black cabin theme, with the dashboard prominently featuring a dual curved-display setup. To complement its sporty character, BMW provides an M-specific steering wheel and seats as part of the package. When it comes to features, the EV gets: –

BMW i5 M60 price in India

BMW India provides a standard 2-year/unlimited-kilometre warranty with the i5, while the battery is covered by an 8-year/1.6 lakh km warranty.
