New Hero Xtreme 200S 4V Launched – All You Need To Know About

Soon after introducing the new Xtreme 160R 4V and Harley-Davidson X440, the Hero MotoCorp has now introduced the updated Xtreme 200S 4V, making it more powerful and sportier than before.

Here’s a look at all the essential details about the new 2023 Hero Xtreme 200S 4V you’ve been longing to know!

What’s New?

  • For starters, the upgraded Xtreme 200S receives four valves instead of two for its 199.6cc single-cylinder engine. This enables better air intake and exhaust flow for improved combustion and enhanced performance.
  • As a result of more valves, the Xtreme 200S now makes 19.17PS of max power and 17.35Nm of peak torque. That’s 1PS/0.9Nm more than the previous 2V model.
  • The bike now also receives an oil cooler for better cooling and improved oil lifespan.
  • When it comes to design, the bike looks similar to its previous iteration, save for the new graphics and three refreshed paint schemes: Moon Yellow, Panther Black Metallic, and Matt Axis Grey Metallic.
  • For improved ergonomics and a sporty riding stance, Hero has also introduced new raised clip-on handlebars, replacing the older one-piece unit.
  • The braking department has also been updated with the new petal disc brakes borrowed from the XPulse 200T. Nevertheless, customers will still have to make with the single-channel Antilock Braking System (ABS).

Underpinnings and Features Remain Unchanged

  • The Xtreme 200S 4V continue to get the same alloy wheels, telescopic fork up front and a monoshock setup at the rear.
  • In the features department, the bike carries forwards the twin LED headlamps with DRLs and an all-digital instrument cluster with smartphone connectivity.

Variant and Price

  • Hero offers the Xtreme 200S 4V in a single variant, priced at Rs 1,41,250 (ex-showroom), making it Rs 5,890 costlier than its predecessor.

Competitors

In the entry-level faired motorcycle category, the Xtreme 200S 4V rivals the Bajaj Pulsar 220F, Pulsar RS200 and Suzuki Gixxer SF.

Author’s Take

All the changes have made the Xtreme 200S more competitive in its segment. Yet, a touch of design alteration and the addition of dual-channel ABS would be warmly welcomed.
