Tata Nexon EV Max Dark Launched; Gets New Infotainment

The Tata Nexon EV Max has finally joined the Indian marqueโ€™s Dark Edition lineup, with prices starting from Rs 19.04 lakh (ex-showroom). Based on the top-of-the-line XZ+ Lux trim, the SUV comes with a few additional features.

Tata Nexon EV Max Dark Edition โ€“ Whatโ€™s Special?

Exterior

  • Like other Dark Edition models, the Nexon EV Max Dark Edition also comes wrapped in a new Midnight Black hue, elevating its stealthy appearance.
  • It also boasts a satin black strip that runs below the grille and window line, along with charcoal grey alloys that add to its contemporary appeal. The fenders also feature โ€œDarkโ€ hashtag badges, completing the vehicleโ€™s stylish and modern look.
  • To distinguish it from its ICE counterpart, the Nexon EV Max Dark Edition retains its signature blue accents.

Interior and Features

  • Inside, the cabin features an all-black theme with a gloss-black finish on the dashboard, replacing the regular modelโ€™s black-and-beige dual-tone scheme.
  • Leatherette seats and door trims also have a black treatment with tri-arrow elements.
  • The blue highlights in the cabin continue to serve as a nod to the vehicleโ€™s electrified character.

  • The most significant update in the Nexon EV Max Dark Edition is the introduction of the brandโ€™s latest 10.25-inch HD touchscreen infotainment system, which first made its debut in the Harrier and Safari models.
  • This new unit by Harman gets connected car technology and supports wireless smartphone integration via Apple Carplay and Android Auto.

Battery Pack and Range

The powertrain of the Nexon EV Max remains unchanged. It continues to get a 40.5kWh battery pack that claims an ARAI-tested range of 453 kilometres on a single charge. Its front axle-mounted electric motor makes 143PS/250Nm, helping it to do the century sprint in under 9 seconds.

Using a 50kW charger, the EV can be juiced up from 0-80 per cent in 56 minutes.

Rivals

The Mahindra XUV400 is the only direct competitor to the Nexon EV Max.
