Skoda Kushaq, Slavia Ambition Get More Powerful 1.5 TSI Engine Option

Soon after launching the Kushaq Onyx Edition, Skoda has now introduced the more powerful 1.5-litre turbo-petrol engine option for the Ambition variants of the Kushaq and Slavia.

  •  Prices for the Skoda Slavia Ambition 1.5 TSI start from Rs 14.94 lakh, while the Kushaq Ambition 1.5 is priced from Rs 14.99 lakh (both prices ex-showroom).

  • As the above table indicates, the Kushaq Ambition 1.5 trim costs Rs 1.8 lakh more when compared to its 1-litre counterpart.
  • The Slavia Ambition 1.5 is up to Rs 1.95 lakh more expensive than its 1.0-litre version.
  • Speaking of the engine output, this turbocharged TSI engine makes 150PS of maximum power and 250Nm of peak torque, that’;’s 35PS and 72Nm more than the 1.0-litre mill.
  • It can be had with either a six-speed manual or a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission (DCT).
  • In the Indian market, the Skoda Kushaq rivals the likes of the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, MG Astor, Maruti Grand Vitara, Volkswagen Taigun and Toyota Hyryder.
  • The Slavia faces competition from the Honda City, Maruti Ciaz, Volkswagen Virtus, and the recently launched second-gen Hyundai Verna.
