2023 Renault Kwid, Triber and Kiger Launched – RDE Compliant

Renault India has upgraded its entire range of products, including Kiger, Kwid and Triber to meet the upcoming BS-VI Phase 2 emission norms, which are set to come into force in April 2023. The French carmaker has also enhanced the safety quotient of these models. Here’s take a look at all the changes: –

  • The Renault Kwid, Triber, and Kiger are now BS6 stage 2, RDE compliant. In addition to catalytic converters and oxygen sensors, all Renault cars will now come equipped with a self-diagnostic device as part of the second step of BS6 emission standards. With this device, a vehicle’s emission levels will be constantly monitored while it is being driven.
  • Apart from upgrading its cars to the upcoming emission regulations, Renault has also made features like Electronic Stability Program (ESP), traction control and Tyre Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS) standard on the 2023 Kwid, Kiger and Triber. 
  • All the variants of Triber and Kiger now also benefit from Hill Start Assist (HSA) function. However, it is limited to top-of-the-line RXT and Climber variants of the Kwid.

  • Besides all these upgrades, Renault has also introduced a new RXE variant for the Kwid with a 1.0-litre petrol engine at Rs 4.69 lakh (ex-showroom), making it the new base variant of the hatch.
  • The carmaker has also discontinued the 800cc engine from Kwid’s lineup. Offered with a 5-speed manual gearbox, this motor was good enough in producing 54PS and 72Nm of maximum output.
  • The entry-level hatch also receives new silver colour-finished ORVMs with side turn indicators and steering-mounted audio controls.
  • The Renault Triber, on the other hand, gains chrome-finished door handles and new seat upholstery.
