Mahindra Scorpio N Gets ESP and Hill Assists As Optional Fitment In Lower Variants

The Mahindra Scorpio N is one of the safest cars in the Indian market. It secured a 5-star safety rating in the updated global NCAP crash test. The brand has recently made its lower manual variants more safer by introducing Electronic Stability Control (ESP), Hill Descent Control and Hill Start Assist as optional fitments in the Z2 and Z4 variants. The aforementioned variants with the suffix ‘E’ offer these features for Rs 50,000 extra over their standard versions. Here’s a quick price check: –

  • The Z2 E and Z4 E variants with the new safety kit command a premium of Rs 50,000 over their regular counterparts.
  • Previously, these features had been available on the Z4 automatic, Z6, Z8 and top-spec Z8 L variants.
  • The other notable standard safety features of these trims include dual front airbags, ABS with EBD, rear parking sensors, all-wheel disc brakes, and ISOFIX child seat anchorages. The higher-spec variants of the Scorpio N also get up to 6 airbags, tire pressure monitoring system (TPMS), front & rear parking cameras, Driver Drowsiness Detection, front parking sensors, and more.

Powering the Mahindra Scorpio N are the 2.2-litre turbo-diesel and 2.0-litre turbo-petrol engines, paired with either a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed torque converter automatic transmission. The ladder-on-frame SUV gets rear-wheel drivetrain (RWD) as standard, whereas the four-wheel drivetrain (4×4) is optional with select diesel trims.

Currently, the Mahindra Scorpio N ranges between Rs 11.99 lakh to Rs 23.90 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi) and rivals the monocoque three-row SUVs like Tata Safari, Hyundai Alcazar, and MG Hector Plus.
