Bajaj Pulsar P150 – What’s New?

There’s no doubt the first appearance of this new model is unmistakably Pulsar, but it’s a lot more modern than the old-gen Pulsar 150. For starters, it gets a new 149.68cc single-cylinder fuel-injected engine that makes a class-leading power output of 14.5PS and 13.5Nm, making it 0.5PS and 0.25Nm more than the standard Pulsar 150. The company also promises a better NVH (Noise Vibration and Harshness) level for a more pleasurable riding experience. Furthermore, it now gets an underbelly exhaust that helps in mass centralisation. Besides, there’s also a weight reduction of approximately 10kg between the twin-disc variants of the new P150 and Pulsar 150.

Bajaj Pulsar P150 features

Design-wise, the new Pulsar P150 borrows its styling cues from the Pulsar N160 and N250, featuring a bi-functional LED projector headlight, providing it an aggressive appearance. It also borrows the new semi-digital instrument cluster from the N250 that features distance-to-empty readouts and a gear position indicator as well. The other notable features of the new Pulsar P150 include a tank-mounted USB charging port, sporty split seats, split grab rails, crystalline LED tail lamps and clip-on handlebars for the twin-disc variant.

The underpinnings of the bike comprise a rear monoshock, paired with 31mm front telescope forks. For braking, the bike gets a 260mm disc up front and a 130mm drum / 230mm disc at the rear. Irrespective of the variant, the bike only features a single-channel Antilock Braking System (ABS).

Bajaj offers the new Pulsar P150 in five colour options – Caribbean Blue, Racing Red, Ebony Black Red, Ebony Black Blue and Ebony Black White.

Rivals

In the sub 160cc naked street fighter segment, the new Bajaj Pulsar P150 will go up against the Honda Unicorn, Yamaha FZ, and TVS Apache RTR 160 2V.

Author’s Take

There’s no doubt that the new Pulsar P150 has evolved a lot from the older Pulsar 150. However, its two-disc variant is just Rs 3097 more affordable than the base-spec Pulsar N160, which offers slightly better hardware and a more powerful engine.
