We all know that people buy new vehicles around the festive season and so carmakers are gearing up for new launches to attract maximum buyers. So, here are the top 6 upcoming cars/SUVs that we are expecting to launch this festive season 2022: –
1. Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara
Maruti Suzuki is all set to launch the Grand Vitara mid-size SUV this Navratri. Its prices are expected to range between Rs 10 lakh to Rs 19 lakh (ex-showroom). It will be offered in six variants (Sigma, Delta, Zeta, Alpha, Zeta+, and Alpha+) and two engine options: 1.5-litre petrol with self-charging strong-hybrid and 1.5-litre petrol with a mild-hybrid system. While the former is claimed to deliver a fuel efficiency of 27.97 kmpl, the latter can be had with the segment’s first all-wheel-drivetrain (AWD). 2. Mercedes Benz EQS
After launching the AMG EQS 53 4MATIC+ electric sedan last month, Mercedes is now gearing up to launch its first locally assembled EV in India, the EQS 580. It will be powered by a 523PS/856Nm dual-electric motor setup linked to a 107.8kWh battery pack that is claimed to offer a range of up to 770 kilometers on a single charge.
3. Tata Tiago EV
Tata Motors will unveil its most affordable electric car in India on September 28 in the form of the Tiago EV. Expected to be powered by the same 26kWh battery pack as the Tigor EV, its range will be over 300km. Click here for more details.
4. Toyota Glanza & Baleno CNG
Revealed by a recently leaked Type Approval Certificate, Toyota is expected to launch the CNG iteration of the Glanza hatchback during the festive season. It will be powered by the same 1.2-liter DualJet petrol engine, equipped with a factory-fitted CNG kit that will deliver 77PS of maximum power when running on CNG, a fall of 13PS from the petrol-only mode. It will be offered in three variants (S, G, V) and solely with a 5-speed manual transmission. Maruti Suzuki could also launch the Baleno CNG in the coming weeks.
5. BYD Atto 3
After introducing the E6 MPV for personal use, BYD is now planning to launch the Atto 3 electric SUV in India. Globally, it has two battery pack options – 49.93kWh and 60.48kWh, coupled to a permanent magnet synchronous motor that makes 204PS and 310Nm. It claims a WLTP range of 345 kilometers and 420 kilometers, respectively.
6. Mahindra XUV300 Sportz
Officially teased last month, the long-awaited Mahindra XUV300 Sportz will likely hit the market this Diwali season. It will be powered by a 1.2-liter turbo-petrol engine with direct injection technology instead of the ongoing MPFI engine, making it 20PS/30Nm more powerful & torquey than the ongoing petrol mill. Apart from that, it will also receive some minor visual changes inside and out.
