Will Hyundai Launch Stargazer MPV In India? – Kia Carens Rival

Hyundai Motors has recently unveiled its all-new MPV, the Stargazer, in Indonesia. It is essentially Hyundai’s version of the Kia Carens that will make its first public debut at the upcoming Gaikindo Indonesia International Auto Show (GIIAS) in August 2022. While Hyundai hasn’t made any official announcement regarding its India launch, it might hit our shores in 2023. So let’s quickly take a look at everything you need to know about the new Hyundai Stargazer MPV.

  • Design: Carrying the Sleek One Box typology with One Curve Design, the Hyundai Stargazer has been specially developed for the Indonesian market. It borrows its design cues from Hyundai Staria, with a width spanning LED DRL upfront giving it a futuristic look. The main headlamp unit is positioned on either side of the bumper flanking its large rectangular grille. It has plenty of sharp cuts & crases on the sides, and its quirky-styled alloy wheels and H-shaped rear LED lamp further add character to the MPV.
  • Dimensions: Save for the length, the Indonesian-spec Hyundai Stargazer has identical dimensions as the Kia Carens. That said, it is 80mm shorter than its Indian-spec sibling rival. For reference, the Kia Carens is 4,540mm long, 1,800mm wide, and 1708mm tall.

  • Interior: The interior design of the Hyundai Stargazer is very neat and simple. It gets an all-black theme, a floating infotainment system, and a digitized instrument cluster. Hyundai states that the cabin of the Stargazer is based on their ”Multifunctional Storage Space” concept. So, it offers plenty of storage spaces across the cabin without compromising passenger comfort.
  • Seating Configuration: Speaking of the seating options, the Stargazer comes in both 6-and 7-seat layouts, with the former featuring two captain seats in the 2nd row.
  • Features: Ensuring utmost passenger comfort and safety, the Hyundai Stargazer comes pretty well loaded, with highlights including an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Bluelink connected car tech, Android Auto and Apple CarPlay smartphone integration support, a wireless smartphone charger, automatic climate control, rear AC vents, cruise control, push-button start, ambient lighting, multiple airbags, electronic stability control and most importantly ADAS technology that further comprise active safety features like automatic emergency braking, blind-spot collision avoidance, lane-keep assist, and rear cross-traffic collision avoidance.
