The brand will launch the Kratos in a phased manner, beginning with metropolitans like Pune, Ahmedabad, Delhi, Bengaluru, Chennai, and Hyderabad in the first phase. It intends on expanding to 100 cities in the coming years. Unlike Ola Electric, Tork will proceed with a franchise-based model.

Tork Kratos – Design and Features

Compared to the Tork T6X electric bike concept showcased in 2016, the Kratos looks quite different, featuring an all-LED illumination system and sharper body panels that give it a sporty appearance. It gets four colors to choose from white, red, black, and blue. However, its base-spec standard variant will come only in white shade.

In terms of features, the Tork Kratos comes equipped with a digital instrument cluster with Bluetooth connectivity, navigation, regenerative braking, USB charging port, multiple riding modes (Eco, City, Sports), reverse assist, anti-theft system, front storage box, hazard lamps, safe home feature, ride analytics, and OTA updates.

Other features include geofencing, sportier Track mode, vehicle tracking, motor walk-assist (to crawl bike in case of puncture or any other mishap), crash alert, smart charge analysis, vacation mode, etc, that are restricted to the Kratos R variant.

Tork Kratos – Powertrain, Range, and Charging Time

The Tork Kratos uses an in-house developed axial flux motor (7.5kW/28Nm) with a forced air-cooling system. Paired with a 4kWh lithium-ion battery pack, the electric bike claimed to offer a real-world range of 120km on a single charge.

On the other hand, the top-spec Kratos R trim gets a more powerful 9kW/38Nm electric motor that can sprint from 0-40kmph in just 3.5 seconds. It has a top speed of 105kmph, 5kmph higher than the standard Kratos trim.

Tork claims that the Kratos R also supports fast charging which can charge its battery up to 80 percent in less than an hour. The brand is also setting up its own public charging network which will be free for 2 years for ‘R’ model customers.

Tork Kratos – Underpinnings

The electric bike underpins a split trellis frame, suspended onto a telescopic fork and a monoshock. Braking duties are performed by disc brakes, with Combined Braking System (CBS) as well as a regenerative braking system.

Rivals

The Revolt RV400 could be seen as its affordable alternative in electric motorbike space.
