MG Hector Plus Style And 6-Seater Super Diesel Variant Discontinued

MG Motor India has quietly revised the variant lineup of its 6 & 7-seater mid-sized SUV, the Hector Plus. The brand has discontinued its Style (7-seater) and Super diesel-manual (6-seater) variants. While the former was available at Rs 13.96 lakh, the latter was priced at Rs 16.75 lakh (both prices ex-showroom).

With their discontinuation, the petrol guise of 7-seater MG Hector Plus is now only available in a single Super variant that is priced at Rs 15.47 lakh (ex-showroom). Meanwhile, the diesel manual combination is available across four variants – Style, Super, Smart, and Select with prices ranging from Rs 15.39 lakh to Rs 19.36 lakh (all prices ex-showroom).

Except for the price revision, no other changes have been made to the SUV. MG will continue to provide the Hector Plus with three powertrain options: a 1.5-litre turbo-petrol unit (143PS/250Nm), 1.5-litre turbo petrol with 48V mild-hybrid system (143PS/250Nm), and a 2.0-litre diesel engine (170PS/350Nm). While all the mills get a 6-speed manual transmission as standard, the non-hybrid unit also comes with an optional 6-speed DCT and 8-speed CVT gearbox.

In the Indian market, the MG Hector Plus rivals the Tata Safari, Hyundai Alcazar, and the recently launched Mahindra XUV700.

In the other news, MG has recently launched the 5-seater Astor SUV that has been sold for the year 2021 in just 20 minutes of its booking commencement. The reservation window is now open for deliveries in 2022. Click here for more details.
