Audi e-Tron GT Bookings Open Ahead Of Its Launch On September 22

In July 2021, German auto giant Audi launched its first all-electric car, the e-tron SUV in the Indian market. And now, the brand is all set to launch its second EV in the form of e-tron GT on 22nd September 2021. Bookings for this performance-oriented electric grand tourer have now been commenced in select cities across the country.

Audi e-Tron GT India launch date

The e-tron GT is essentially a sporty coupe-like electric sedan that shares its underpinnings with Porsche Taycan. However, its design is unmistakably Audi. Globally, the Audi e-tron GT comes in two trims: – standard and RS. Both these versions are powered by a twin-electric motor setup (one on each axle), which draws its charge from a 95kWh battery pack, claiming to provide a range of up to 487km on a single charge. However, their powertrain specifications differ from each other.

In the e-Tron GT's standard model, the front motor produces 238PS, while the rear makes out 435PS. The combined output rests at 476PS and 630Nm. Under Launch Control engagement, the output increases all the way to 530PS/640Nm, in just 2.5 seconds. On the other hand, the front and rear motor of the top-spec RS e-tron GT version churns out 238PS and 456PS, respectively, resulting in combined engine output of 598PS and 830Nm, that can further shoot up to 598PS in Launch Control mode.

In terms of performance, the Audi e-tron's standard trim can complete the century sprint in just 4.1 seconds before attaining a top speed of 245kmph, while its RS version takes just 3.3 seconds for the same and tops out at 250kmph.

Audi e-Tron GT range

Talking about its charging capabilities, the Audi e-tron GT supports 800-volt 270 kW ultra-fast DC charging that can charge its battery for 100km of range in merely five-minute.

Except prices of the Audi e-tron GT to start from over Rs 1 crore (ex-showroom). While the e-tron GT has no direct rival in the Indian market, it can be seen as an alternative to luxury electric SUVs like the Mercedes-Benz EQC, Jaguar I-Pace, and other Audi e-tron models.
