Renault-owned Dacia Automobile Revealed Its New 7-Seater Jogger MPV

French automaker Renault's European sub-brand, Dacia has unveiled its all-new MPV called Jogger. Similar to Renault's extremely popular Triber MPV, the Jogger also comes with a highly practical cabin, allowing you to adjust the seats in as many as 60 combinations, according to your needs and preferences.

The Dacia Jogger is based on the Renault-Nissan Alliance’s CMF-B platform. The same stage will also underpin the next-generation Renault Duster. Dimension-wise, this new people mover is 4547mm long with a wheelbase of 2897mm and a maximum ground clearance of 200mm.

As far as its design is concerned, the Jogger takes its styling cues from the Dacia Sandero hatchback. In fact, it looks like a beefed-up version of the Sandero, featuring more brawny bumpers at both ends with skid plates and strong haunches above the rear wheels that give it a muscular look. Interestingly, it also gets Dacia's patented modular roof bars that cleverly convert into a roof rack to carry loads up to 80kg.

The other notable design elements of the upcoming Dacia Jogger include a wider grille, Dacia's signature Y-shaped LED DRLs in the LED headlamps, a sculpted bonnet, a tall roof, blacked-out flex wheels, vertical LED tail lamps and thick cladding all around its lower body.

The brand has offered the MPV in five colour options – Pearl Black, Slate Grey, Moonstone Grey, Glacier White, and Terracotta Brown.

Dacia Jogger specifications

Move inside, and you will notice a similar dashboard design as the Dacia Sandero, featuring an 8-inch floating touchscreen infotainment system, round climate control knobs for auto AC, a 3.5-inch MID in the instrument cluster, 4-spoke steering wheels, and much more. However, what differentiates the Jogger from Sandero is the modular 7-seater layout that allows it to convert into a two-, four-, five-, six- or seven-seater as per needs. With this flexible seating option, its boot space can be increased from 213 liters to a whopping 1819 liters.

The Jogger will also be available in a five-seater variant as well.

Apart from the above-mentioned traits and features, the Jogger gets wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, keyless entry, steering mounted audio controls, cruise control, electronic parking brakes, sliding trays, up to 6-airbags, hill start assist, emergency brake assist, blind-spot monitoring system and parking assistance with rear camera.

Dacia will offer the Jogger MPV with a 1.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine belting out 110PS of maximum power and 200Nm of peak torque. That's 10PS/40Nm more than Renault Kiger and Nissan Magnite. Paired to a 6-speed manual transmission, this engine will also be available with an LPG option. Besides, it will also get a 1.6-litre petrol-hybrid powertrain by 2023. Dacia claims that the Jogger hybrid will be capable of running on the pure-electric mode in the city for 80 percent of the time.
