Mahindra XUV700 Teased With Segment Largest Panoramic Sunroof

Mahindra XUV700 is all set to be launched in the third quarter (probably in August) of 2021. Its key features are being teased through a series of trailers to build momentum for its launch. The latest one is showing the XUV700’s panoramic sunroof, which Mahindra calls the Skyroof. The brand has also claimed that it will be the largest panoramic sunroof in the UV2 segment, having a length of 1360mm and a width of 870mm. Earlier, the brand has also showcased the segment's first Auto Booster Headlamps feature that will be a part of XUV700's noble technological set.

Besides the above-mentioned features, the XUV700 is also likely to get several other segment-first equipment such as memory function for driver's seat, Mercedes-inspired twin-screen setup, dual-zone climate control, and radar-based Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS), which is expected to feature various active safety techs like autonomous emergency braking, blind-spot monitoring, adaptive cruise control, park assist, lane departure warning, forward-collision warning, and others.

The SUV will also get an all-LED lighting system, electronic parking brakes with auto-hold function, leatherette upholstery, multiple driving modes, cooling function for front seats, multiple airbags, and many more. Mahindra is expected to offer the XUV700 in both 6-&7-seater configurations.

Mahindra XUV700 launch date

Based on an all-new monocoque platform, this successor model of XUV500 will be offered with 2.0-litre mStallion turbocharged petrol and 2.2-litre turbocharged diesel engines. Their performance figures are still under wraps. Transmission options will include a 6-speed manual and 6-speed automatic, while an all-wheel drivetrain (AWD) will be available on select variants. The XUV700 may also get a mild hybrid system, which will make it compliant with the upcoming CAFE 2 (Corporate Average Fuel Efficiency) norms that will come into effect in 2022.
