New Skoda Octavia To Launch On June 10, Prices Expected Between Rs 27.5 – 32 Lakhs

Bookings for the 4th-generation Skoda Octavia have begun unofficially at select dealerships across the nation ahead of its official launch on the 10th of June, 2021. It could be priced between Rs 27.5 lakh to Rs 32 lakh (ex-showroom), revealed by a leaked message of a Skoda dealer. On its arrival, the 2021 Octavia will rekindle its rivalry with the Hyundai Elantra, which is priced between Rs 17.85 and Rs 21.12 lakh (ex-showroom).

For those who aren't aware, the fourth-generation Skoda Octavia will come with significant design changes along with new features and more powerful engine options. It will get a wider front grille (surrounded by chrome lining), single-piece LED headlamps, new 17-inch Rotare Aero alloys, a sloping roofline, refreshed split LED taillamp setups, and redesigned bumpers at both ends. It will be based on the Volkswagen Group's MQB EVO platform.

Compared to the ongoing model, the updated Skoda Octavia will be 19mm longer & 15mm wider; however, its wheelbase will remain the same. 

On the inside, the 2021 Skoda Octavia will sport a new dual-tone shade with notable design changes such as a new dashboard layout with redesigned AC vents, a two-spoke steering wheel, a 10.25-inch virtual cockpit digital instrument cluster, and a 10-inch free-standing touchscreen infotainment system with eSIM functionality.

The other notable features of the new Octavia will include connected car tech, Apple Carplay & Android Auto smartphone connectivity, powered front seats with ventilation function, panoramic sunroof, semi-auto parking assist, cruise control, drive mode selector, wireless charging, eight airbags, electronic stability control, front & rear parking sensors with a 360-degree camera, etc. 

Powering the 2021 Skoda Octavia sedan will be a 2.0-litre TSI turbo-petrol (190PS/320Nm) engine, paired to a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission. The brand could also introduce a 1.5-litre 4-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine at a later stage. This smaller capacity engine is rated at 150PS/250Nm and is likely to come with a 6-speed manual transmission.
