Here's How The Kia EV6 Will Look Like

Followed by the teaser images, Kia Motors has now revealed the exterior and interior design details of its upcoming EV6 ahead of its world premiere later this month. For the people not in know, the EV6 will be Kia's first dedicated battery-electric vehicle (BEV) globally. In fact, it will kickstart Kia's 'Plan-S' strategy

The EV6 will be Kia's first model to be based on Hyundai group's new Electric-Global Modular Platform (E-GMP) and will follow the brand's new design philosophy – ‘Opposites United’, which is based on five basic postulates: Bold for Nature, Joy for Reason, Power to Progress, Technology for Life, and Tension for Serenity

Talking about the design, the Kia EV6 looks quite elegant with lots of keen lines and edges. It has distinguishing design cues from the current line-up of Kia products. Upfront, it features a distinctive grille than the Kia's conventional Tiger Nose grille, which the brand calls 'Digital Tiger Face'. It is flanked by sleek LED headlamps that come with integrated LED daytime running lamps (DRLs), giving it a futuristic look. The EV6 also features Kia's new brand logo at the center which according to Kia emphasizes three elements: ‘symmetry’, ‘rhythm’, and ‘rising’. The front grille also houses a camera and the proximity sensors are placed just above the air dam.

The swept-back windscreen, sharp character lines, aerodynamically optimized alloy wheels, and rising window lines that blend into the sloping roofline at the rear, give it a modern-day crossover-like look. Further, the bulge above the rear wheels and roof spoiler joining the sloping roofline, give it a taste of aggressiveness while the black cladding around the arches and rear bumper furnishes it as a sturdy yet futuristic utility vehicle.

 Kia EV6 features

Inside, the Mercedes-Benz-like twin-screen setup takes the central stage comprising the infotainment system and digital driver’s display. The dashboard also features Audi-like faux AC vents. The steering wheel design of the Kia EV6 is also distinct from the other Kia cars. It also sports Kia's new logo and has physical controls for audio, telephony, MID, and drive modes.

Following the modern-day trends, Kia has decreased the number of physical buttons on the dash and so it gets just two physical dials for the individual and a sleek control panel with haptic touch for climate control. However, the central console tunnel houses physical keys in the form of the start/stop button, the rotary dial with a central button for the drive select & parking mode, and switches for the parking sensors, cameras, and auto-hold function. It also features a wireless mobile charging pad, two cup holders, and controls for the heated-&-ventilated front seats. There is also a separate storage deck below the central console tunnel that also gets two USB ports.
