Bajaj Avenger 160 And Avenger 220 Cruise Get Pricier

Coronavirus disease has affected almost every aspect of our everyday lives and drastically influenced consumer's spending power. Moreover, inflation is constantly increasing. In between, owing to the rise in input cost of production, the automobile industry is once again increasing the prices of their products. Following the trend, Bajaj Auto has once again hiked the asking rates (ex-showroom price) of its entire product lineup, including the Avenger 160 Street and the Avenger 220 Cruise. Before this, the last price revision took place in December 2020.

Here are the new prices of the Bajaj Avenger series: –

Model

New Price

Old price

Premium

Avenger 160 Street

Rs 1,02,592

Rs 1,01,094

Rs 1,498

Avenger 220 Cruise

Rs 1,24,634

Rs 1,22,630

Rs 2,004

As the above table indicates, the price hike ranges between Rs 1500 to Rs 2000, which may seem a small increase but is actually a lot for a motorcycle that hasn't been updated in the past several years. And with the gradual price increase, the affordable quotient of these bikes is withering away.

With the new prices, Avenger's closest rival- Suzuki Intruder (Rs 1.22 lakh) is now Rs 20,000 costlier than the Avenger 160 Street. Compared to the Avenger 220 Cruise, it is barely Rs 2,600 more affordable. However, the Cruise is unquestionably a far more capable roadway machine.
