  • The Nissan Magnite is based on the Renault Triber's CMF-A+ platform. It is marginally longer and wider than the Triber sub-4M cross MPV, which is a 7-seater car, whereas the Magnite will come in a 5-seater configuration. For reference, the Reanult Triber is 3,990mm long, 1739mm wide, and 1,643mm tall. It sits on a 2,636mm long wheelbase.
  • The length and wheelbase of the Magnite are quite a par with Kia Sonet, Hyundai Venue Tata Nexon & Maruti Vitara Brezza/Toyota Urban Cruiser. It means like all these cars, its second-row space will not be sufficient for the three passengers.
  • It is also important to note that its width is 12mm less than the Hyundai Venue, which is notorious for its lowest cabin space in the segment.
  • Despite being built on the Triber's platform, it has significantly less boot space than the Renault offering, which is a bit disappointing. However, it is decent compared to other cars in the segment.
  • The Kia Sonnet is at the forefront in terms of cargo space, whereas the XUV300 offers the least in the segment.

  • The Ford EcoSport here is the most powerful among all while the Mahindra XUV300’s 1.2-litre turbo petrol unit is the torquiest engine in the list.
  • The Nissan Magnite, on the other hand, is the latest powerful offering here, if outputs of only naturally aspirated engines are compared. In fact, it has the least displacement.
  • Nissan Magnite's turbo unit also has the lowest output among all turbocharged engines. Its torque further drops by 10Nm in the case of a CVT automatic gearbox.
  • In terms of transmission options, Magnite, Sonet and Venue only come with a manual gearbox if the naturally aspirated engine is concerned. Whereas Magnite's turbo engine gets CVT automatic option. Kia and Hyundai offer the turbo units of their respective SUVs with both a 7-speed DCT and a 6-speed clutchless manual gearbox (intelligent manual transmission).
  • The Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza and Toyota Urban Cruiser get a 4-speed and Ford EcoSport gets a 6-speed torque converter automatic transmission choices, while Tata Nexon gets a 6-speed AMT.
  • Mahindra’s sub-4m SUV is the only car in the segment that does not get any automatic gearbox option with a petrol engine.
  • As far as the mileage is concerned, the Magnite's turbocharged petrol-manual combination is the most frugal unit among all.
