Mercedes-Benz AMG GLC 43 4MATIC Coupe Launched In India

Back in March 2020, Mercedes-Benz had launched the facelifted Mercedes-Benz GLC Coupe In India. Now expanding its variant line-up, the German manufacturer has introduced its AMG performance model in the country, and the good thing is that it will be assembled locally at Mercedes’ Chakan plant. With this, it has become the first AMG badged model to be assembled in India.

The AMG GLC 43 Coupe is priced at Rs 76.70 lakh (ex-showroom pan-India). It is Rs 14 lakh costlier than the 300 4Matic petrol trim.

Design of the Mercedes AMG GLC 43 Coupe is almost similar to the standard GLC Coupe trims, apart from the AMG-specific credentials that mainly include AMG’s Panamericana slatted grille, sportier bumpers, side skirts, 20-inch alloy wheels, quad-exhausts, and a tweaked rear bumper with diffuser.

Like the exterior, the interior also features sporty bits such as a flat-bottomed steering wheel with a trackpad to control driving modes, red accents, AMG sports seats, aluminum paddle shifters, and pedals, etc. The other notable features include a 10.25-inch touchscreen with MBUX infotainment with connected car technology, a Burmeister sound system, a 12.3-inch digital driver’s display, wireless charging, 64-colour ambient lighting, AMG Ride Control+ adaptive suspension, seven airbags, and active braking assist, etc.

It also gets five driving modes: Slippery, Comfort, Sport, Sport+, and Individual, which alters the car’s powertrain, steering, and suspension response/performance as per the mode selection.

Mercedes-Benz AMG GLC 43 Coupe – Engine & Gearbox 

Under the hood, the AMG GLC 43 Coupe houses a 3.0-liter twin-turbo V6 petrol engine that produces 390PS of whopping thrust and 520Nm of twist. The engine is paired to a 9-speed AMG Speedshift automatic transmission, which sent the power to all four wheels via Mercedes’ 4MATIC rear-biased drivetrain system, which transmits 69% of engine output to the rear axle. 

The AMG GLC Coupe can sprint from standstill to 100kmph in just 4.1 seconds. Its top speed is electronically limited to the 250kmph.

Competitors

The Mercedes-Benz AMG GLC 43 Coupe doesn’t have any direct competitor in India. But Porsche Macan's twin-turbo model can be considered its closest rival, which is priced at Rs 83.95 lakh (ex-showroom).
