Ford Endeavour is one of the biggest players in the Indian SUV market. The car has made its presence felt for over 15 years now. And it has always been a benchmark in the mind of Indian consumers. The car has seen a fairly good sales record. The last major facelift of the vehicle caught even more attention as compared to the predecessor. The ‘sport’ version which has been spied at some dealerships brings about some small changes with the design without overindulgence in what just works.
About the Ford Endeavour Sport
A few images of the car have leaked online. These images come from a dealer’s lot. The vehicle is just the Indian adaptation of the Ford’s Everest sport which was released in Australia earlier this year. For those who are confused, the Endeavour is sold as Everest in different parts of the world. But the difference only lies in the tag and the vehicles are the same for all practical purposes.
Design
This is the only aspect where things have changed in the sports variant of the Endeavour when compared to their standard offering. The car features a lot of blacked-out elements. The grille on the front is finished in black. There is a noticeable reduction in the chrome elements. The lower bumper and the ORVMs house black elements as well. The car can be safely termed as the ‘black’ edition. A lot of manufacturers have opted for this design strategy in recent times. The Endeavour is just another addition to that list.
Mechanicals
There is absolutely no change on the mechanicals front of this vehicle. It houses the same 2.0-litre turbo diesel engine as the standard Endeavour. The engine produces 168 bhp of power and 420Nm of peak torque. The engine is compliant with BS6 fuel emission standards. The engine is mated with a 10-speed automatic transmission.

Offering and launch
The dealer dispatch has been done so it would be safe to assume that the Endeavour ‘Sport’ will hit the showroom floors before the end of this year. Endeavour is offered in an array of 3 options with choices on 4*2 or 4*4 options. It is not clear as to how the sport edition will be offered.
As far as price goes, a slight premium on the usual Endeavour trim could be expected. The car will still be competing against the likes of Toyota Fortuner and Mahindra Alturas G4.
