2021 Audi Q5 Facelift Unveild

It’s been twelve years the Audi’s Q5 has dominated the global market with amazing design, powerful performance, comfort, convenience, and luxury. With the unveiling of an updated Q5, Audi has come up with a loud, clear and strong statement of their capabilities to make great even better.

Design

The face of the car has not changed a lot, but a newly designed front grille and redesigning of DRLs give it a standout over its predecessor. The car now has a more muscular appeal.

On the side, the car gets reworked still inserts which could be translated into higher ground clearance. But it is the rear of the car which steals the show. The highlight being the tail lamps. Audi has used OLED technology for the rear lamps making Q5 the first car thus allowing it to shine through the competition. The customer will be provided with options to select the design pattern on the tail lamps which are all derived from the same hardware. These lights will also light up if any car from the rear approaches closer than 2 meters.

The Cabin

The upgrades addressing comfort and convenience, inside the cabin also make the upcoming car a stronger appeal. The car is longer than before and with a wheelbase of 2.82m, a width of 1.8m( same as before) there is enough room for the average family, and sliding rear bench with adjustable backrests can be taken up as an option.

The luggage space ranges between 550 litres and 1550 litres. The 10.1 inch MMI display comes as standard with HUD being offered as an option. All the information required can be accessed by the driver through the multi-functional steering controlling the 12.3-inch virtual cockpit which comes with three types of graphics layout. The MIB3 platform promises ten times better computing performance against its predecessor. The information systems can be engaged using voice control as well.

Design variants

The Q5 will come in two design trim options other than the standard. The advanced line will come with chromed vertical ribs in a single frame whereas the S line flaunts a sporty honeycomb in the single frame and chrome additions around the rear diffusor.

Engine

In India, The Q5 is expected to come with the trustworthy and acclaimed 2.0L TFSI petrol engine. An upgraded diesel engine is expected in the other markets. The multilink suspension on front and rear promises a more refined ride quality. Its lightweight ensures higher efficiency and handling.  A dynamic steering wheel as an option may attract some consumers.

The launch

Globally, the new Q5 is expected to come out in the later part of 2020 whereas we can expect it in India by 2021.
