JSW MG Motor India has put out the first teaser of the new Hector facelift, giving us a glimpse of its front fascia. The brand has also confirmed that the upgraded SUV will be unveiled on December 15, 2025, with prices expected to be revealed in January 2026.

2026 MG Hector: What Does the Teaser Reveal?

The new teaser video of the upcoming MG Hector shows sleek LED DRLs and a redesigned front grille with chrome bits in a honeycomb pattern, replacing the existing diamond-shaped chrome studs. MG will also redo the main headlamps; however, it will continue to be positioned lower on the bumper. It is also expected to get a larger 19-inch alloy wheel setup and tweaked bumpers at both ends.

While we are yet to see the interior of the facelifted Hector, it is expected to don a new cabin theme, along with significant tech enhancements. We expect the brand to offer both front & rear ventilated seats, a more intuitive sound system, a new horizontal infotainment, memory function for the driver seat, along with a wireless charger for rear occupants and an improved connected car tech experience.

Besides that, the Hector continues to offer amenities like digital Bluetooth key, panoramic sunroof, powered front seats with ventilation function, rain-sensing wipers, ambient lighting, 360-degree camera, front & rear parking sensors, traction control, tyre pressure monitoring system, and level-2 ADAS.

Engine Details

We do not expect any changes underneath the hood. MG is expected to continue with the existing 1.5-litre turbo-petrol (143PS/250Nm) and 2-litre diesel (170PS/350Nm) engines. Transmission options are also expected to remain unchanged.

Expected Price and Rivals

MG retails the Hector between Rs 14 – 20.76 lakh (ex-showroom). Expect its upcoming facelift iteration to command a significant price premium over the existing model. Once launched, it will continue to go up against the likes of Tata Harrier, Jeep Compass and Mahindra XUV700.
