India’s highest-selling car, the Maruti Suzuki WagonR, has been updated for 2025 with six airbags. They will be offered as standard fitment across its lineup. Earlier, it was offerd with just dual front airbags. Recently, the brand has also upgraded the Alto K10, Eeco, Celerio and Grand Vitara with enhanced safety suite.
While an official statement is yet to come, we expect this update to command a significant price hike.
For those unaware, the six airbags setup comprises driver airbag in the steering wheel, front passenger airbag in the dashboard, two side airbags build into the outer edge of the front seats to protect chest on during side impact, and two curtain airbags which run along the side of the roof to protect passengers heads in side impacts or rollovers.

Aside from the above-mentioned addition, the Maruti WagonR remains unchanged. It continues to get amenities like halogen headlamps, fog lamps, alloy wheels, a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment with Apple Carplay and Android Auto, 4 speakers, steering mounted control, manual AC with heater, powered side mirrors, power windows, remote keyless entry, rear wiper & washer, rear defogger, day/night IRVM, ABS with EBD, electronic stability control, hill hold assist and rear parking sensors.
Underneath the hood, the WagonR gets three powertrain options: 1-litre petrol, 1-litre petrol-CNG and 1.2-litre petrol. Let’s take a look at their specifications: –
