2024 Maruti Swift Fuel Efficiency Figures Leaked

Maruti Suzuki is set to launch the new-gen Swift on May 9. Bookings are now open, but before its official unveiling in India, its fuel efficiency figures (mileage) were leaked online.

As per the leaked information, the 2024 Maruti Swift will be powered by Suzuki’s new Z Series 1.2-litre, 3-cylinder engine, which makes 82PS and up to 112Nm of peak torque. It has a claimed mileage of 25.72 km/l. Here’s how its specifications compare to the Swift’s ongoing engine: –

Maruti Swift New vs Old: Specifications and Mileage Comparison
  • In contrast to the outgoing model’s ARAI-rated efficiency, the new Maruti Swift boasts a claimed mileage of 25.72kpl, marking an improvement of over 3km/l. It remains unconfirmed whether this figure pertains to the manual or automatic version of the new Swift.
  • Details regarding the new Swift’s transmission options are still under wraps. Unlike its global version, which features a torque converter automatic transmission, we expect it to continue with an AMT automatic to keep prices in check. Additionally, a 5-speed manual gearbox will continue to be offered.
  • While the current Swift offers a CNG powertrain option exclusively paired with a manual gearbox, the upcoming Swift will not feature this powertrain option, at least initially upon launch.
  • Speaking of the performance figures, the new 3-cylinder unit delivers 8PS and 1Nm lower output when compared to the ongoing K-Series engine.
