- The Kia Sonet has the lowest starting price, Rs 11,000 less than the Nexon. However, the prices of their top-spec DCT variants are on par with each other.
- Speaking of the powertrains, Tata Nexon’s 1.2-litre turbo-petrol engine (120PS/170Nm) is available with four gearbox options: 5-speed manual (with lower-spec trims), 6-speed manual (with higher-spec trims), 6-speed AMT and a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission. On the other hand, Kia Sonet’s 1.2-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine (83PS/115Nm) is only available with a 5-speed manual transmission, while the 1-litre turbo petrol unit (120PS/172Nm) can be had with either a 6-speed iMT (clutchless manual) or a 7-speed DCT automatic.

- The base variant of the Kia Sonet diesel is nearly Rs 1.2 lakh more expensive. It is powered by a 1.5-litre unit (116PS/250Nm), offered with three gearbox options: 6-speed manual, 6-speed iMT, and 6-speed torque converter automatic.
- On the other hand, the Nexon’s 1.5-litre diesel unit (115PS/260Nm) can be had with a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed AMT gearbox.
