BMW Motorrad has teased its upcoming launch for the Indian market, the K 1600 range of tourer motorcycles. Globally, the Bavarian automaker offers the K 1600 in multiple variants, including K 1600 GT, K 1600 GTL, K 1600 B, and K 1600 Grand America. In India, it is likely to be offered in the GT and GTL variants.

Based on the bridge-type cast aluminum frame, the BMW K 1600 is widely known for its superior comfort and cruising capabilities. Its design is aesthetically pleasing and ergonomically curated for the best visual and comfort aids.
Powering this beast is a monstrous 1,649cc, oil/water-cooled, six-cylinder, 24-valve, four-stroke, in-line engine that churns out a whopping power output of 160 PS at 6,750 rpm and 179 Nm of peak torque at 5,250 rpm. This shaft-driven tourer has a top speed of over 193 kmph.
BMW packs the K 1600 range with a host of advanced riding aids such as a 6-axis IMU, multiple riding modes (Rain, Road, Dynamics), adaptive LED headlights, 10.25-Inch Color-TFT display with smartphone connectivity and integrated map-navigation, audio system 2.0 with SAT-radio and sound-profiles, C-type USB charging port with an integrated compartment for mobile phones, Dynamic traction control (DTC), Engine brake control (MSR), Hill Start Control (HSC Pro), heated grips & seats, and much more.
It also gets BMW’s signature suspension system (semi-active), featuring the BMW Motorrad Duolever suspension on the front and BMW Motorrad Paralever suspension system at the rear, which gives the bike excellent handling in all terrains and riding conditions.
BMW also offers the bike with Comfort-package that consists of the keyless ride tech, central locking system, Shift Assistant Pro, and anti-theft alarm, etc.
