2021 TVS Apache RR 310 Launched At Rs 2.60 Lakh; Receives Performance-Focused Upgrades

TVS Motor India has given its flagship Apache RR 310 sports bike yet another update for 2021. Priced at Rs 2,59,990 (ex-showroom), the new Apache is around Rs 4,510 more expensive than its previous iteration. For this added premium, it gets a host of standard upgrades along with a pair of optional kits.

2021 TVS Apache RR 310 – What's New?

Standard Upgrades: –

  • For beginners, the Hosur-based two-wheeler maker has revised its exhaust system and placed the muffler slightly higher to secure a more lean angle. What's more interesting is the new sportier exhaust note which was sorely lacking in the previous model.

  • TVS has also updated its 5.5-inch colored TFT display with some added features. It now comes with document storage (to store & view documents), a day trip meter, a dynamic engine rev limit indicator (displays engine temperature & RPM parameters), and an over-speed indicator.

  • The brand has also offered the updated Apache with TVS Racing OMC-inspired Race Replica Graphic scheme (costs an extra Rs 4,500) and different wheel color options. One can also opt for their favorite number on the visor.

  • TVS also claims for an improved engine response.

Optional Kits: –

Besides the above-mentioned changes, there are also two new road-legal kits on offer – Dynamic kit and Race kit.

TVS Apache RR 310 specs

  • Dynamic Kit: – The dynamic kit costs Rs 12,000 and offers a brass-coated drive chain with anti-rust protection and adjustable suspensions at both ends. To be precise, the KYB front fork of the updated Apache RR 310 will come with a 20-step compression and rebound damping and 15mm of preload adjustment. On the other hand, the rear monoshock comes with a 20-step rebound damping and a 10-step preload adjuster. This will allow its user to adjust the stiffness or flexibility of the suspension setup for different terrains and riding styles. Also, it is worth noting that the new Apace RR 310 will come with a wave-bite key with an inbuilt adjuster tool to tune the suspension damping. That means you won’t have to pin your hopes on special tools to adjust your suspension.

TVS Apache RR 310 features

  • Race Kit: – As the name suggests, the Race kit is all about sportier ergonomics. That said, the TVS Race Kit for the Apache RR 310 comprises a new set of clip-on handlebars that are 8-degree downwards and 5 degrees inward compared to the regular clip-on handlebars. This will ensure a highly dynamic stance, assisting in taking tight corners aggressively and improves straight-line speed. Besides, it also features raised knurled footpeg and footrests assembly that will provide superior gripe and a 4.5-degree higher lean angle. TVS has priced this kit at Rs 5,000.

Note: The aforementioned kit prices will be applicable only for factory customization, choosen at the time of booking itself through TVS's new 'Built To Order' web configurator or the TVS ARIVE app.

2021 TVS Apache RR 310 – Engine and Other Features

No other changes have been made to the motorcycle. The Apache RR 310 will continue to be powered by the ongoing 313cc single-cylinder motor that churns out a maximum power output of 34PS at 9700rpm and a peak torque of 27.3Nm at 7700rpm. The motor comes mated to a 6-speed transmission with an assist-&-slipper clutch. It also gets Glide Through Traffic Plus (GTTP) technology and the four riding modes, namely Rain, Urban, Sport, and Track.

Despite the ban on importing tires, it continues to ride on the 17-inch alloys wheels, wrapped in the same Michelin Road 5 W-rated tires as the previous model. Anchoring the bike is a 300mm front and a 240mm rear petal disc with dual-channel ABS.

The 2021 TVS Apache RR 310 lock horns with KTM RC 390 and Kawasaki Ninja 300, which are currently priced at Rs 2.77 lakh and Rs 3.18 lakh, respectively (both prices, ex-showroom Delhi).
