2021 Tata Altroz iTurbo Launched At Rs 7.74 lakh

The most anticipated turbocharged version of the Altroz premium hatchback aka the Tata Altroz iTurbo has finally been launched in India at an introductory price range of Rs 7.74 – Rs 8.85 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi). With this, Tata has also expanded Altroz's variant line-up by introducing a new XZ+ top-spec trim and increased the prices of selected variants.

  • As the above table reveals, the Altroz iTurbo is available in three variants only: XT, XZ, and new top-spec XZ+. Compared to the naturally aspirated petrol variants, the turbo model is up to Rs 75,000 more expensive. 
  • Prices of selected regular petrol & diesel variants have also been increased. The naturally aspirated XE, XT and XZ petrol variants are now dearer by up to Rs 25,000, whereas the XM, XT, and XZ diesel variants have recorded a price jump ranging between Rs 5,000 to Rs 9,000. 

2021 Tata Altroz – New update for all variants 

Apart from the price revision, Tata has also done some cosmetic changes and added some new features. For starters, the 2021 Tata Altroz gets a new Harbor Blue color shade that is available from the XM+ variant onwards with all powertrain options. The cabin, on the other hand, flaunts a new dual-tone black-grey finish. 

All the powertrain options of Altroz also gets a new XZ+ top-spec variant, which comes with all the existing features of Altroz XZ (O) trim along with some new equipment which includes iRA connected car technology with 27 features, 70+ Hinglish voice commands with What 3 Word support, Xpress cooling function for AC, leatherette upholstery, auto-up driver power window, personalized wallpaper setting for the infotainment system, wearable key, etc. 

Tata Altroz iTurbo – Design, Engine & Features

The Altroz iTurbo looks identical to the regular model, save for the iTurbo badging at the rear. It is being powered by a 1.2-liter, 3-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine that generates 110PS and 140Nm, which is 24PS and 27Nm more than its naturally aspirated counterpart.

As of now, the turbo engine comes mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox, while a 7-speed DCT is set to be introduced later. 

According to Tata Motors, the Altroz iTurbo can sprint from 0-100kmph in just 11.9 seconds with a fuel efficiency of 18.13kmpl (as per MID cycle). The Altroz iTurbo also gets an exclusive SPORT drive mode along with the existing CITY mode. However, it misses out on the ECO driving mode which you get with the other variants. Additionally, it also gets two more tweeters for a better sound experience and a contrast black color roof for an added sporty appearance.
