Maruti Suzuki has recently given Swift a mid-lifecycle update. Priced between Rs 5.73 lakh to Rs 8.41 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi), the updated Swift hatch has raised its competition with several first-in-segment add-ons including an idle start/stop system and cruise control. It also gets a new 1.2-liter Dualjet petrol engine and dual-tone ivories options for the very first time. However, which variant of the Swift makes the most sense for you? Here find the answer: –

2021 Maruti Suzuki Swift – Colors Options

Monotone Colors: – 

• Pearl metallic lucent orange
• Metallic silky silver

2021 Maruti Suzuki Swift – Engine Specifications 

The biggest change to the Maruti Swift is the new 1.2-liter Dualjet Dual VVT petrol engine, replacing the older 1.2-liter K12 petrol unit. This new engine has greater thermal efficiency that helps it in delivering improved performance and higher fuel economy.

1. Maruti Swift LXI

Features: – 

• Exterior: – Body-colored bumpers, 14-inch steel wheels, unpainted ORVMs, unpainted door handles, LED rear combination lamp. 
• Interior: – Front doom lamp, Multi-information display (MID) in instrument cluster. 
• Comfort & Convenience: – Manual AC with heater, tilt-adjustable steering, manually adjustable outside mirrors, gear shift indicator, front accessory socket, headlamp on the reminder, fix headrests. 
• Entertainment/Infotainment: – Roof antenna. 
• Safety: – Dual front airbags, ABS with EBD, brake assist (BA), ISOFIX child seat anchorages, front seat belt reminder, engine immobilizer, front seat belts with pre-tensioner & force limiter, reverse parking sensors. 

Should you buy it? – The base-spec Swift comes with only basic equipment. It gets a good amount of safety features but Maruti Suzuki should have added power windows, adjustable headrests, and day/night IRVM. One can buy this variant if he/she has a tight budget. However, if there is any scope of budget expansion, then move to the next variant.

2. Maruti Swift VXI

Features (over LXI variant): – 

• Exterior: – Body-colored ORVMs, body-colored door handles, side turn indicator on ORVM, wheel covers. 
• Interior: – Outside temperature display (AMT only), chrome finished inside door handles & hand brake, co-driver side vanity mirror, front seatback pocket (co-driver side), piano black finishing on the gear knob, tachometer, IP ornament. 
• Comfort & Convenience: – Power windows, driver-side auto-down power window, remote keyless entry, central door locking, power-adjustable ORVM, electromagnetic trunk opening, front seat adjustable headrests, height-adjustable driver seat, gear position indicator (AMT only), rear parcel tray. 
• Entertainment/Infotainment: – Audio system with AUX-in, USB & Bluetooth connectivity, steering mounted audio & telephony control, 4-speakers. 

• Safety: – Security alarm, ESP with Hill Hold Assist (AMT only), day/night IRVM, speed sensing auto door lock. 

Should you buy it? –The VXI variant has always been the most demanded variant of the Swift and the reason is clearly understandable from its features list. Compared to the entry-level LXI variant, the VXI trim commands a premium of Rs 63,000. And the features add-ons justify this hefty price premium. In our opinion, it is the base-spec variant of the updated Swift in the true sense. 

3. Maruti Swift ZXI

Features (over LXI variant): – 

• Exterior: – 15-inch alloy wheels, front fog lamps.
• Interior: – Leather wrapping on steering wheel, silver finishing on front door armrests, outside temperature display as standard.

• Comfort & Convenience: – Driver-side pinch guard power window, smart keyless entry with push engine start/stop button, driver-side auto up/down power window, automatic climate control, rear wiper & washer, rear defogger, power foldable outside mirrors (ORVMs), rear adjustable headrests, 60:40 split rear seat, boot lamp, 
• Entertainment/Infotainment: – 7-inch touchscreen smart play studio infotainment system, android auto & apple carplay, voice command, 2-tweeters. 

Should you buy it? – If you are looking for the Swift hatch then ZXI will be our recommendation variant for you. However, if you want some more feel-good elements and comfort features like cruise control, auto headlamps, dual-tone finish, etc, then you can go with the ZXI+ trim. 

4. Maruti Swift ZXI+

Features (over ZXI variant): – 

• Exterior: – LED projector headlamps, LED daytime running lamps, 15-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels, and dual-tone color roof options. 
• Interior: – Colored MID. 
• Comfort & Convenience: – Cruise control, automatic headlamps with follow-me-home function, key sync power foldable outside mirrors. 
• Safety – Rear parking camera.

Should you buy it? – The ZXI+ is an absolute package as it ticks almost all the boxes when it comes to modern-day features. However, it misses out on rear AC vents that Hyundai Grand i10 Nios offers in the segment. Also, the premium of Rs 78,000 is a bit on the higher side given the added features.
