2021 Ducati Monster And Monster Plus Launched In India

Bike enthusiasts who have been keenly waiting for the launch of the sportier naked superbike, the 2021 Ducati Monster, we have good news for you! The Italian bikemaker has been finally brought the middleweight performance bike to our shores at a starting price of Rs 10.99 lakh, making it 1.48 lakh costlier than its BS4 iteration (Monster 821). The bike is available in three colors and two variants (Monster and Monster Plus). Here are the detailed prices –

Powering the new Monster is a 937cc L-twin Testastretta 11-degree mill that makes a maximum power of 111PS at 9,250rpm along with a peak torque of 93Nm at 6,500rpm, that's 2.8PS and 7Nm more than the 821’s engine. Also, the peak torque is now achieved at twelve hundred revs lower, providing a better spread of performance and a more instant engine response. The power is sent to the wheels via a new gearbox and Ducati Quick Shift Up/Down.

The new Monster weighs 18kg less compared to the previous model, all thanks to the new aluminium frame and redesigned rims, subframes, swingarm. Its handlebar has also been pulled closer to the rider by 70mm in order to make the city riding a breezy affair. 

It also gets a new extensive electronics package that mainly includes ABS Cornering, Wheelie Control, lean-sensitive Traction Control, Launch Control hydraulic clutch, and three riding modes (Urban, Touring and Sport). Besides, there's also adjustable levers, clutch pumps, a bi-directional quickshifter, and a radial brake that offers supreme riding pleasure. Additionally, the Monster Plus variant also offers a front visor and a seat cowl.

In the Indian market, the 2021 Ducati Monster locks horns with the Kawasaki Z900 and Triumph Street Triple, which currently range between Rs 8.42 lakh and Rs 9.15-11.35 lakh (ex-showroom), respectively.
