Toyota Temporarily Halts Bookings For Innova Hycross ZX Hybrid

Earlier today, we reported that hybrid variants of the Toyota Innova Hycross are commanding a waiting period of up to 26 months. And now, the carmaker has officially halted bookings for the range-topping ZX and ZX (O) hybrid trims of the MPV.

• High demand and ongoing supply challenges are the main reasons for this move.
• Toyota states that bookings will be restarted once the situation improves.
• Bookings for all the non-hybrid petrol, and VX, VX (O) hybrid variants are still open. These variants are priced from Rs 24.76 lakh to Rs 26.78 lakh (ex-showroom). Click here for the variant-wise complete price list.

Now, here’s a look at the official statement from Toyota: –

The Innova Hycross was launched recently during Nov 2022 to cater to the needs of the customers seeking proportions & poise of an SUV with the spaciousness of an MPV. The versatile Innova Hycross, available in both self-charging strong hybrid electric variant [SHEV] as well as gasoline variant is for every occasion owing to its glamor quotient, advanced technology, comfort, safety features and a thrill to drive. We are grateful to our valued customers for the overwhelming response that they have shown to Innova Hycross across all its variants within a few months of its launch.

However, owing to the ongoing supply challenges, we deeply regret to announce the temporary halt of bookings for top end grades of Innova Hycross i.e., ZX and ZX (O) only, with effect from 8^th April 2023. The bookings of the other grades of Innova Hycross both the hybrid and gasoline will continue.

We are doing our best to resume the Innova Hycross bookings for the said variants at the earliest.

Toyota offers the Innova Hycross with two powertrains: 174PS 2.0-litre naturally aspirated petrol and 186PS 2.0-litre petrol strong-hybrid powertrain choice, coupled with a CVT and e-CVT automatic transmission.

Currently, Toyota Innova Hycross has no natural competitors in the Indian market. However, it can be seen as an affordable alternative to the Kia Carnival.
