Tata Nexon EV Max Teased Ahead Of Launch On May 11

  • The upcoming long-range version of the electrified Nexon will be cherished as the ”Tata Nexon EV MAX”.
  • Will get new rotary dial, electric parking brakes with auto-hold, drives modes, rear disc brakes, auto-dimming IRVM, and adjustable regenerative braking.
  • Also expected to get ventilated front seats, cruise control, hill hold assist, and ESC. 
  • Likely to be powered by a bigger battery capacity of 40kWh.
  • Unofficial bookings are underway at select dealerships.

The long-range Tata Nexon EV, which is slated to be launched on May 11, has been teased officially and will be called the ”Tata Nexon EV Max”. Its bookings have also been commenced at select dealerships across the country.

Tata Nexon EV Max – What does the teaser reveal?

Going by the latest teaser video, the Tata Nexon EV Max will get a new digital rotary dial with a new ‘Park’ mode. It will also feature an electronic parking brake (EPB) with an auto-hold function, which is the first for any sub-4 meter SUV. Keen eyes could also notice Sports and Eco drive mode switches and two buttons with battery icons next to the rotary dial, implying that the upgraded EV will adjustable regenerative braking.

Design-wise, the upgraded Nexon EV will remain largely unchanged, save for the new 5-spoke alloy wheels. Besides, it is expected to get revised seat upholstery along with new equipment like electrochromic IRVM, ventilated front seats, an air purifier, cruise control, hill hold assist, rear disc brakes, and electronic stability control. 

While technical details of the Tata Nexon EV Max are yet to be communicated, reports are suggesting that it could feature a larger battery pack of 40kWh that will be paired with a more powerful electric motor (136PS). For your reference, the ongoing Nexon EV gets a 30.2kWh battery pack with a 129PS permanent magnet synchronous motor. 

Expect Tata to price the Nexon EV at a significant premium over the current model that ranges from Rs 14.54 lakh to Rs 17.15 lakh (ex-showroom).
