After tons of tweets and speculations, the all-new Ola S1 Air has been launched. Priced at Rs 84,999 (ex-showroom, Delhi), it will sit below the S1 and S1 Pro models in the Ola’s EV lineup. Bookings for the S1 Air has now commenced at Rs 999, while the purchase window will begin in February, with deliveries in April 2023. For all booking till 24th October 2022, a special discount of Rs 5,000 will be provided.
Ola S1 Air – What’s New?
Upon first glance, the new Ola S1 Air appears much like its other variants, except for the flat floorboard, tubular grab rail and blacked-out bottom panel extending from the side to the rear. However, it receives tons of changes, mainly on the underpinnings. For starters, it gets a traditional telescopic fork up front instead of the single fork on the S1 and S1 Pro variants. It also features double-sided swingarm at the rear with the non-flat-mounted dual-shock absorbers. Ola has also switched the alloy wheels with steel wheels and replaced the disc brake set-up with drum brakes.
However, one of the biggest change can be seen in the form of a new 4.5kW hub-mounted motor, paired with a 2.5kWh battery pack. It has a top speed of 90kmph, with 0-40 in just 4.3 seconds. Available with three riding modes (Eco, Normal and Sport), it is claimed to deliver around 101km of IDC range in Eco mode.
In terms of features, it receives a 7-inch touchscreen rider’s display with Bluetooth connectivity, navigation, music, and some features of the upcoming MoveOS 3 like moods & sounds, multiple profile, vacation mode, fun party mode, etc.
Tipping the scale at 99kg, it’s almost 25kg lighter than the S1 Pro model.
