New Ather 450X HR Variant Incoming With Enhanced Range

Ather is gearing up to launch a new variant of the 450X electric scooter with an enhanced range called the ”450X HR”. Here, “HR” possibly stands for the High Range.

Revealed by the recently leaked homologation document, the upcoming Ather 450X variant will get a 3.66kWh capacity battery pack with a claimed range of 158 kilometres on a single charge, which is around 8 kilometres more than the ongoing Ather 450X. However, at 6.4kW, the overall power output is similar to the ongoing version. Also, it will continue to get five riding modes: Wrap, Sport, Ride, Smart Eco and Eco.

Regarding dimensions, the upcoming variant will be 1837mm long, which makes it 54mm shorter than the current model. However, the width, height and wheelbase remain unchanged.

We anticipate the upcoming Ather 450X HR to command a marginal premium over the existing 450X model, which retails at Rs 1.45 lakh (ex-showroom Bengaluru). Once it hits the market, the 450X will offer stronger competition against the likes of Gen 2 Ola S1 Pro, Vida V1 Pro, Simple One, and the upcoming TVS iQube ST.

In other news, Ather has announced a 10-day long nationwide service camp for its customers from November 1 to November 10, 2023. The event will allow customers to avail a free 15-point check-up, along with 10 per cent discount on labour charges, and a 5 per cent discount on parts.
