Maruti Reveals Name Of Its Upcoming MPV Based On Toyota Innova Hycross

We all know that Maruti Suzuki will be launching a new premium MPV on July 5th that will be based on the Toyota Innova Hycross. Today, the Indo-Japanese marque has announced that it will be called “INVICTO”. Earlier, it was rumoured to be named “ENGAGE”.

What else do we know about the Maruti Invicto?

  • The Invicto will be Maruti Suzuki’s new flagship offering that will be positioned above the Grand Vitara in the brand’s existing product lineup.
  • It will be sold through the brand’s Nexa dealerships.

  • Since the Invicto is a rebadged version of the Innova Hycross, it will share its underpinning, powertrain, design and features with its Toyota counterpart. However, there will be brand-specific cosmetic changes to distinguish the two.
  • The Maruti Invicto will be offered with Toyota’s 2.0-litre, 4-cylinder petrol engine, available with or without strong hybrid technology. With the latter, it is expected to return a fuel efficiency of around 21.1 kmpl.
  • Speaking of the features, it will be the first product from Maruti to get the Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS), which will include features like adaptive cruise control, high beam assist, lane trace assist, rear cross-traffic alert, blind spot monitoring, pre-collision system and more.
  • Other notable features of this upcoming MPV will include auto AC, rear AC vents, floating infotainment, connected car tech, wireless Apple Carplay & Android Auto, digital instrument cluster, panoramic sunroof, wireless smartphone charging, 360-degree camera, up to 6 airbags, ESC, hill hold assist and much more.
  • We expect Maruti Suzuki to position its highly anticipated flagship MPV in the price range of Rs 19 lakh to Rs 30 lakh (ex-showroom), making it an affordable alternative to the Kia Carnival.
