LWB Force Gurkha (5-Door) and Gurkha Pickup Revealed

Indonesia-based Republik Motor has showcased the dual-cab pickup and 5-door Long Wheelbase (LWB) version of the Force Gurkha at the Indo Defence Expo and Forum in Jakarta. However, it has been named Ksatria SUV in Indonesia. Initially, these SUVs will only be sold to government agencies, but they will be available to the general public in the future.

Save for the bull guard, differently styled alloy wheels, LED tail lamps, grille for the lighting system and a cover for the spare wheel, the Republik ksatria looks similar to the Indian-spec Force Gurkha, featuring the Mercedes Benz G-Wagon-inspired boxy exterior. Inside, it flaunts a dual-tone scheme with a 6-seat configuration, more plush seats and roof-mounted rear AC vents.

On the other hand, the Ksatria pickup truck features a rocket launcher mounted in the cargo bed. Also, its doors are hinged on the side rather than at the bottom.

Powering the Republik Ksatria is the same Mercedes-Benz sourced 2.6-litre OM616 diesel engine as the Force Gurkha that makes 90BHP and 251Nm. Further details of the Ksatria’s powertrain are sparse, but we expect it to get a 5-speed manual gearbox and a 4×4 drivetrain with mechanically locking differentials.

Force Motor will soon launch the 5-door Gurkha in India as well. Its pickup truck is also expected to be brought to our shores as a more affordable alternative to the Isuzu D-Max V-Cross and Toyota Hilux.
