Jeep claims that the Meridian has been specially designed, engineered, and tuned for Indian road conditions. It features independent front and rear suspension with frequency selective damping (FSD) that delivers the best possible handling without concern for comfort.
Features onboard the full-size SUV include automatic LED projector headlamps, cornering fog lamps, 18-inch machine-cut alloy wheels, a dual-pane sunroof, powered & ventilated front seats, memory function for the driver’s seat, a powered tailgate, dual-zone climate control, rear AC vents, 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment with wireless Apple Carplay and Android Auto, wireless smartphone charging, a 10.2-inch digital driver’s display, and much more. Passenger’s safety, on the other hand, is ensured by six airbags, an electronic parking brake, traction control, electronic stability control, hill start/descent assist, a 360-degree camera, and tyre pressure monitoring system.
Powering the Jeep Meridian is Compass’ 2.0-liter, 4-cylinder turbocharged diesel engine that makes out 170PS and 350Nm, paired with either a 6-speed manual or a 9-speed torque converter automatic transmission. While a front-wheel-drivetrain (FWD) is standard with the Meridian, its top-spec AT trim can also be had with the all-wheel-drivetrain (AWD) option. In addition, the water wadding capacity of 406mm, an approach angle of 21 degrees, a departure angle of 22 degrees, a break-over angle of 20 degrees, multiple terrain modes (Sand/Mud, Snow, Auto), all-season tires, etc., further helps with off-road performance.
