Hyundai Creta Updated For 2022; Knight Edition Launched

Hyundai Motors has updated the Creta for 2022. The SUV has received a new variant, a new transmission option, and a limited-run Knight Edition at a starting price of Rs 13.51 lakh (ex-showroom). Here’re the details: –

1. New iMT Transmission

Hyundai Creta is now also available with a 6-speed iMT (clutchless manual) transmission, paired with the 115PS 1.5-litre petrol engine only. Also, it is restricted to Creta’s mid-spec ‘S’ variant. 

The brand has priced it at Rs 12.84 lakh, making it Rs 39,000 more expensive than the S Manual variant.

2. New Variant

The 2022 Hyundai Creta receives a new S+ variant that is offered with all three engine options. However, its naturally aspirated petrol and diesel versions can be had only with the newly introduced Knight Edition, whereas its turbo-petrol version gets DCT automatic transmission only. Earlier, the turbo-DCT combination was limited to the SX and SX (O) variants only.  

The brand has priced the Creta S+ DCT at Rs 15.58 lakh (ex-showroom).

3. Knight Edition: –

Restricted to the new S+ and existing SX (O) variant, the Hyundai Creta Knight Edition comes with a stealthier-looking all-black exterior and interior theme. On the outside, the Knight Edition gets a piano-black grille with sporty red inserts, dark chrome ‘Hyundai’ logo, dark metal finished alloy wheels with red brake calipers, a Knight Edition emblem on the tailgate, and glossy black treatment on the side sill, skid plates, wing mirrors, roof rails, and C-pillar.

The cabin of the Knight Edition also receives all-black treatment, along with red inserts on the air vents and seat upholstery. In terms of features, the S+ Dark Knight variants get LED headlamps with DRLs, 16-inch alloys, and a panoramic sunroof over the mid-spec S trim. Now, here’s a look at its prices: –

4. New Features

2022 Hyundai Creta Knight Edition Interior and features

The newly added S+ turbo-petrol variant, which is being offered with DCT transmission only, has received certain features over the S trim. These include all-four disc brakes, 16-inch alloy wheels, auto-folding ORVMs, a panoramic sunroof, wireless smartphone charger, paddle shifters, metal pedals, auto up/down function for the power windows, electronic stability control (ESC), vehicle stability management (VSM), and hill start assist. 

5. Upgraded Safety

The tire pressure monitoring system (TPMS) will now come as a standard fitment across all the variants of the Hyundai Creta.

6. New Color Option

The 2022 Hyundai Creta is now available in a new Denim Blue paint scheme.
