To align with the recently launched Tata Punch EV, Citroen has introduced a new top-end variant for its pure electric eC3 hatchback called Shine, priced at Rs 13.2 lakh (ex-showroom). This new variant is Rs 50,000 more expensive than the Feel variant and comes with a new colour and a host of additional convenience features. Here’s a look at its prices: –

Citroen eC3 Shine – What’s New?
The main highlight of this new top-spec variant is the inclusion of some essential features, such as a leather-wrapped steering wheel, rear wiper & washer, rear defogger, rear parking camera and power-adjustable side mirrors.
The upgraded EV also receives a Cosmo Blue exterior shade that replaces the Zesty Orange colour.
Apart from that, the electric hatch remains the same as before. Having said that, it continues to get features like a 10.2-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Apple Carplay and Android Auto, connected car tech, a semi-digital instrument cluster, manual AC, keyless entry, dual-front airbags, ABS with EBD, rear parking sensors and more.

What Powers The Citroen eC3?
Powering the Citroen eC3 is a 57PS front-axle-mounted PMS motor that makes 143Nm of peak torque. It draws its charge from a 29.2kWh lithium-ion battery pack that claims 320 km on a single charge.
Using a 50kW DC fast charger, the EV takes nearly 57 minutes to charge from 10 to 80 per cent.
Author’s Take
While these additions are certainly welcomed, the eC3 still lacks several convenience and safety features. It would be beneficial for the company to address these aspects to create a more comprehensive package.
