Bookings Open For 2022 Hyundai Tucson; Launch In August

Hyundai Motors India has started accepting bookings for the 4th-gen Tucson in India. Prices of the SUV are likely to be announced in August and it will be sold via Hyundai’s Signature outlets.

For those who aren’t aware, Hyundai will offer the 2022 Tucson in its long-wheelbase version in India. It is 4630mm long, 1865mm wide, 1665mm tall, and has a wheelbase of 2755mm. It is based on the brand’s Parametric Dynamic Design language and flaunts aggressively styled design elements and sharp & cut creases all around.

Features onboard the SUV include a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system with BlueLink connected car tech, a 10.25-inch digital driver’s display, dual-zone AC with OTA updates for the system & map, segment’s first multi-air modes, auto defogger, ventilated & heated front seats, Home-to-Car (H2C) function with Alexa and Google voice assistants, powered driver’s seat with memory function, panoramic sunroof, remote engine start, Bose premium sound system, multiple driving modes (Normal, Eco, Sport, Smart), terrain modes (Snow, Mud, Sand), 64-color ambient lighting, hands-free tailgate, and much more.

Passenger’s safety, on the other hand, will be ensured by 6 airbags, front & rear parking sensors, ESC, hill hold assist, electric parking brakes, 360-degree camera, and Hyundai’s SmartSense technology with Level-2 Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS).

2022 Hyundai Tucson bookings

Underneath the bonnet, the 2022 Hyundai Tucson will benefit from both petrol and diesel engine options. Its 2.0-liter petrol engine (156PS/192Nm) will come mated to a 6-speed torque converter automatic transmission, while the 2.0-liter diesel mill (186PS/416Nm) will get an 8-speed automatic unit. The SUV will also get an All-Wheel-Drive (AWD) system, albeit only with the high-end diesel variants.

We reckon the prices of the new-gen Hyundai Tucson to start from around Rs 25 lakh (ex-showroom). Once launched, it will lock horns with the likes of Jeep Compass, Volkswagen Tiguan, and Citroen C5 Aircross.
