Mahindra Thar 5-door
The 5-door Mahindra Thar has been undergoing extensive testing for quite some time now, and its latest spy images reveal some intriguing details about the upcoming SUV.
Electric Sunroof Confirmed
Following the recent spy shots, the 5-door Mahindra Thar will receive a single-pane electric sunroof.
This also implies that it will get a fixed-type metal hard-top roof.
In an unusual placement, the sunroof appears to be positioned between the front and second rows, contrasting with the conventional placement.
It is also reportedly fitted with LED fog lamps, suggesting that the production-spec version might get a full LED lighting system.
Earlier spy images have also hinted at the presence of C-pillar-mounted door handles for the rear.
Although the car’s interior is yet to be seen, it is anticipated to retain similarities with the 3-door model while incorporating new features such as a larger touchscreen infotainment system with connected car technology and auto climate control.
To ensure passengers’ safety, the SUV is expected to offer a range of features including up to 6 airbags, traction control, ESC, and more.
Underneath the hood, Mahindra will likely offer the 5-door Thar with both petrol and diesel engine options as its 3-door iteration, albeit with different tuning for enhanced performance.
It is likely to be offered with both rear-wheel and four-wheel drivetrain options.
