  • Unofficial bookings are already underway.
  • Likely to receive new USD forks, Bluetooth connectivity, and dual-channel ABS.
  • Prices to go up significantly.

Yamaha India is reported to launch the new MT-15 version 2.0 on April 11. Bookings for the upgraded streetfighter have also begun at the dealership level for a token amount of Rs 1,000.

2022 Yamaha MT-15 V2.0 – What to expect?

While details aren’t concrete, the new Yamaha MT-15 V2.0 is likely to get plenty of new features, along with new color options. If reports are to be believed, it will get new upside-down (USD) front forks, updated switchgear, and a Bluetooth-enabled fully-digital instrument cluster with features such as battery level indicator, last parking location, riding history, parking records, and much more. Expect Yamaha to equip the updated MT-15 with a dual-channel Antilock Braking System (ABS) as well.

Apart from the above-mentioned add-ons, the 2022 Yamaha MT-15 V2.0 is also likely to receive some new paint options.

At the heart, the new Yamaha MT-15 is expected to retain its ongoing 155cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled,  VVA engine (18.5PS/13.7Nm), mated to a 6-speed transmission.

Considering all the changes, the prices of the updated MT-15 will definitely jump from its existing price range of Rs 1,46,900 to Rs 1,49,900 (ex-showroom Delhi). Once launched, it will rise as a more competitive offering against the TVS Apache RTR 200 4V and Bajaj Pulsar NS200.
