2021 Mahindra XUV700 Spotted Completely Undisguised For The First Time

After a bunch of spy images and teaser videos, the upcoming Mahindra XUV700 has been spotted undisguised for the first time ahead of its expected unveil on August 15. It tops the list of cars that auto-enthusiasts can't wait to drive.

Mahindra XUV700 design

The XUV700 in the above image is finished in Golden Brown color, and we must say that it isn't going well with the car's design. Styling-wise, it looks quite neat & clean thanks to the flush-fitting smart door handles and smoother character lines. However, it retains many similarities to the XUV500, such as a teardrop element for the headlamps, slightly curved waistline, and black applique on the B-C-& D-pillars.

Upfront, it features a newly designed blacked-out front grille with vertical slats, flanked by LED headlamps that also get prominent daytime running lamps. Its bumper design looks quite subtle and features a silver skid plate and blacked-out treatment for the air dam and fog lamp housings.

The dual-tone five-spoke alloy wheels on the spied model look pretty small for the car's size, suggesting that it's not the top-spec variant of the SUV.

The rear profile of the SUV looks quite angular with a sharply rising roofline that blends into the integrated roof spoiler. It also gets a protruding tailgate, wrap-around LED tail-lamps, silver skid plate on the bumper, and prominent black cladding around the bottom edge of the SUV.

Earlier spy shots have already revealed that the XUV700 will get a Mercedes-inspired dual-screen setup comprising the infotainment system and digital instrument cluster. As for features, it will come equipped with many segment-first features like the auto high-beam assist, smart door handles, smart air filter, segment's largest panoramic sunroof, and driver drowsiness detection. Besides, it is also expected to offer connected car technology, dual-zone climate control, leatherette upholstery, front power seats with memory function, wireless mobile charger, multiple airbags, 360-degree camera, electronic stability control, ABS with EBD, and level-1 advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) that could further include features such as auto emergency braking, lane-keep assist, blind-spot detection, and adaptive cruise control.

Powering the XUV700 could be a 197PS 2.0-liter mStallion turbocharged petrol and 182PS 2.2-liter mHawk turbo-diesel engines. Both should be offered with 6-speed manual and automatic units.

The Mahindra XUV700 is expected to be priced from Rs 15.5 lakh to Rs 22 lakh (ex-showroom). In the Indian market, it will take on biggies like MG Hector Plus, Tata Safari, and the recently launched Hyundai Alcazar
