Volvo EX30 Electric SUV Launched in India at Rs 39.99 Lakh

Volvo India has officially launched its entry-level electric SUV, the EX30, with an introductory price of Rs 39.99 lakh (ex-showroom) for bookings made before October 19, 2025. Post this date, the SUV will be priced at Rs 41 lakh, making it the most affordable luxury EV in the brand’s Indian lineup.

The EX30 is the third electric model from Volvo in India, following the EX40 and EC40, and is locally assembled at the brand’s Hosakote plant near Bengaluru. Deliveries are expected to begin in the first week of November.

Volvo EX30: Exterior Design and Colour Options

On the design front, the EX30 carries Volvo’s signature Scandinavian aesthetic. The SUV features ‘Thor’s Hammer’ LED DRLs, a closed-off grille for improved aerodynamics, and 19-inch five-spoke alloy wheels. Furthermore, its compact crossover-like stance, split LED tail lamps, and black lower-body cladding add to the SUV’s modern and slightly rugged appeal.

Buyers can choose from five colour options: Onyx Black, Cloud Blue, Crystal White, Moss Yellow, and Vapour Grey.

Volvo EX30: Interior and Features

The cabin takes a minimalistic yet premium approach, with dual-tone Nordico upholstery, recycled materials, and five ambient lighting themes paired with soundscapes. Key highlights include a 12.3-inch infotainment touchscreen with Google built in, a 9-speaker Harman Kardon sound system with a soundbar, dual-zone climate control, panoramic glass roof, NFC card key, and wireless phone charging. Front seats are power-adjustable, and the SUV offers a claimed 318-litre boot space, expandable via 60:40 split rear seats.

Safety remains a strong suit, with a 5-star Euro NCAP rating. Features include seven airbags, a 360-degree camera, blind spot monitor, ISOFIX anchorages, and Level 2 ADAS capabilities such as autonomous emergency braking, lane-keep assist, and adaptive cruise control.

What Powers The Volvo EX30?

The EX30 is powered by a single 69 kWh rear-mounted battery paired with a rear-wheel-drive motor producing 272PS and 343Nm of torque. Volvo claims a 0–100 kmph time of 5.3 seconds, a top speed of 180 kmph, and a WLTP range of 480 km on a single charge. The SUV comes with an 11 kW charger and an eight-year/1.6 lakh km battery warranty.

Competition Check

Rivals for the EX30 include the Hyundai Ioniq 5, BYD Sealion 7, Mini Cooper SE, and BMW iX1, but even after the price adjustment to Rs 41 lakh, the EX30 undercuts most of its competitors in the entry-level luxury EV segment.
