In celebration of World EV Day, Volvo Car India has launched an ambitious 3,250 km electric vehicle (EV) drive across India. The journey, covering diverse climates from Jaisalmer’s dry desert to Mawsynram’s wet landscapes, aims to showcase the capabilities of Volvo’s C40 Recharge.
Starting in Jaisalmer and passing through major cities like Jodhpur, Jaipur, Delhi, Agra, and Shillong, the drive emphasizes the range, reliability, and performance of Volvo’s EV in both extreme heat and rain. This initiative is part of Volvo’s efforts to dispel concerns about EV range anxiety in India.
The drive also highlights Volvo’s sustainability efforts, including their Ghaziabad urban forest initiative, where 10,300 trees were planted as part of their Reverse Project. Volvo remains committed to becoming a climate-neutral company by 2024.
Commenting on this initiative, Jyoti Malhotra, Managing Director of Volvo India, said, “A 3250-kilometre drive, spread across 13 days across a wide spectrum of climatic conditions is a test for both the car and the drivers. The driving comfort of the C40 Recharge will ensure a memorable driving experience and the distance being covered will reinforce customer confidence in our EVs”
