Volkswagen Golf GTI To Launch On May 26

The much-anticipated Volkswagen Golf GTI will be launched on May 26, 2025. It will be the facelifted iteration of the 8th-gen Golf and will be brought to India via the CBU route. The brand will only import 150 units in the first batch, all of which have already been booked. Its deliveries will start in June 2025.

We expect Volkswagen to price the Golf GTI at around Rs 50 lakh (ex-showroom).

Volkswagen Golf GTI – Engine and Gearbox

At the heart of the Golf GTI will be the 2-litre turbocharged petrol engine that produces 265 PS of max power and 350 Nm of peak torque. Mated to a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission (DCT), the Golf GTI can do the century sprint in just 5.9 seconds before hitting an electronically limited top speed of 250 kmph.
