The new-gen Swift has already been revealed globally. It features a sharper and more aggressive design than the current model, with a redesigned grille, a refreshed lighting system, and updated bumpers at both ends. It also gets sportier alloys and conventional rear door handles, replacing the one on the C-pillar on the current model.

Inside, the 2024 Swift will flaunt a completely revamped dashboard inspired by the Baleno. It is likely to feature a 9-inch floating touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Apple Carplay and Android Auto, a wireless smartphone charger, a 360-degree camera, six airbags and a heads-up display (HUD).

Underneath the hood, the Indian-spec Swift is likely to get the brand’s new 1.2-litre, 3-cylinder petrol engine, which makes 82PS and 112Nm. Internationally, this engine is also available with a mild-hybrid system and an all-wheel-drive (AWD) option, both of which will not be offered in India. For reference, the current-gen Swift has a 1.2-litre, 4-cylinder petrol engine that churns out 90PS and 113Nm.

Expect the 2024 Maruti Swift to carry a significant price premium over the current model, which costs from Rs 5.99 lakh to Rs 9.03 lakh (ex-showroom). Upon launch, it will continue to face rivalry from the Hyundai Grand i10 Nios and Tata Tiago.
