TVS Motor Company has rolled out a new Pearl Blue-&-Silver dual-tone paint scheme for the Star City Plus commuter motorcycle at a starting rate of Rs 65,865 (ex-showroom, Delhi). This new color will be available with both disc and drum variants. The dual-tone disc trim will cost you Rs 68,465 (ex-showroom).
Besides the new paint scheme, the bike remains mechanically unchanged. It continues to draw its power from the BS6-compliant 109cc single-cylinder FI engine that produces 8.19PS at 7350rpm and 8.7Nm at 4500rpm. The motor comes paired with a 4-speed transmission. As per the brand, it can achieve a top speed of 90kmph.
The underpinnings of the TVS motorcycle are also untouched, comprising a conventional telescopic front fork and twin rear shocks. The bike is brought to standstill by drum brakes (130mm front and 110mm rear) in base trims, whereas the newly launched disc variant gets a 240mm petal disc at the front which costs a premium of Rs 2,600 over the drum brake model. The bike rolls on 17-inch wheels that come wrapped in tubeless tires.
As far as the features are concerned, the 2021 TVS Star City Plus is the first motorcycle in its segment to get an all-LED headlamp. Apart from this, the bike also gets a USB charging port and an analog-digital instrument cluster with Econometer, service reminder, and a malfunction indicator. For rider’s safety, it gets CBS (combined braking system) as a standard fitment.
In the 110cc commuter segment, the TVS Star City Plus primarily competes with the Bajaj Platina 110 H-Gear, Honda Livo, and the Hero Passion Pro.
In the other news, TVS has also introduced the 2021 Apache RTR 160 4V with the segment's most powerful and torquier engine. In fact, it has also become lighter than the previous model. Here check out the updated TVS Apache RTR 160 4V.
